Hi, I guess the only viewer for my blog will be the CAS teacher, Mr Gerald Koh. So greetings to you Sir. Wish you have a good time before you started marking our CAS Project.
Our group started the CAS project right after mid sem test, on a Saturday. It was followed by countless meetings throughout the two weeks holiday, but guess what, we only completed the CAS project on 16th July, Thursday, just one day shy of the submission.
In my humble opinion, the cause is we rushed into our project without properly planning. There was no one LEADER that can lead our team, direct our team to a common goal. Everyone was doing things without accounting for or just have ideas of their own which they want to execute but no patience or time to explain to the other group members, resulting in a state of confusion as the weeks go by.
There were distractions along the way, where we played games on Facebook and chatted with our friends during project time. But I do not think that is an issue. The real issue is that each of us was having trouble grasping the scope of the project and the things that need to be done, thus we wasted lots of time on NOT doing our projects in the LABs.
As school starts, LAB 8 and 9 are no longer available just to us, the A&F students. Classes are being held, which the only option available to us is to do our project during the nights. From there, where the race to complete the CAS project becomes intense, not just us, but every other group out there are finding all the available times to do the CAS project on the limited number of computers available in both LABs.
Tensions within our group rises, with people getting angry at one another, voices raised, inaction, deliberate show of nasty faces to one another as the deadline approaches. It no longer matters to me how I interact with my group mates anymore. I just want the whole project to end as soon as possible.
Towards the end of the project, it became apparent that the weight of the whole project fell on 2 of the members in the group, Alfresco and Xiuhui. They were doing the project, redoing the project, spending time to correct the stupid mistakes, mistakes that are not supposed to be there.
As with every project, we finished it with bloods and tears and boil. However, I feel that we could have do so much more, to perfect the project. We could have used a better method to finish off the project, a method that cared about our group mates' esteems, a chance for all to show their strength, a fair chance for all to show their contribution.
Instead, we chose the lousiest method to finish the project, with our feelings hurt and battered, with the heavy toil taken on each of us, and a deep wound in the relationship between each of us now. The project was supposed to see the best of us, but now it has just revealed the ugly side of each of us.
Can we heal thy wound and carry on our relationship as before the project, or are we doom to the oblivion of being just common friends or classmates, no longer the good and closer relationships we once shard?
Looking ahead and leaving the trail of pain behind.
